Umskipti, one of our short films, was selected into the prestigious Documentary and Short Film Festival, Nordisk Panorama that took Place in Malmö, Sweden, 19.-24. September 2019. The film competed in the category New Nordic Voice where is was screened with 3 other short films for a full room of audience where the film’s representatives - this time Anna Ólafsdóttir and Veronika Rut, the film’s producers, answered questions in the Q & A session. Unfortunately the director’s of the film, Sesselía Ólafs and Peter Callow, were unable to attend this time as they were super busy filming in Australia (Pete) and preparing for the premiere of an ambitious children’s play in Iceland (Sessý)!
We were very happy with the trip to Malmö and want to thank the Nordisk Panorama delegation for a fantastic festival and the chance to screen our film there!
But Turn’s festival journey is NOT finished yet - we were selected to GRIMMFEST, one of the largest horror festivals in the UK where our film will be screened on the 5th of October 2019. Pete, our DOP and co-director will be representing there if anyone is on the way to Manchester!
Another short film from NyArk Media, Silence of the Fish, was premiering and screened today in Bíó Paradís as part of Reykjavík International Film Festival’s program, Icelandic Panorama.
With 4 other short films in a session we were super happy with the feedback and want to thank everybody who came to see the film and RIFF for selecting the film to the competition. Another screening will be on October 3rd 2019 in Bíó Paradís at 18:45.
The film has also been selected to the Northern Wave Film Festival in Rif on Snæfellsnes - we recommend that people take a road trip to the stunning peninsula of Snæfellsnes to see a bunch of short films and enjoy the nature 26.-28. October!
ALSO - we got the amazing news recently that the film has been selected to an A list festival, but it’s still a secret… stay tuned!
